Mission:  “To display a crucifix at no charge in every Christian home”

Deacon Mike Salerno believes this with a passion.  He was in his 70’s when he met Gary Fusco a local cabinet maker and shared the vision God had given him.  Gary  is the man who is helping him reach his amazing goal.  With Deacon Mike’s vision and Gary’s talent at woodworking the two were off. They started in 2006 with just fifty crucifixes and remarkably,  Deacon Mike handed every one of them out free of charge in just two days and was back for more.

Then an astonishing thing happened! With the help of local support Mike and Gary have been able to get materials, manufacture and distribute over 7000 crucifixes here in the USA and in other far reaching parts of the world such as Japan, Venezuela, Canada, and Ethiopia.  A cornerstone of this effort is that these crucifixes are given free to anyone who will place the crucifix in their home. Meet Our Staff

Deacon Mike Salerno was born 20 min before his twin brother John in Chicago in 1933.  After high school he joined the Army and was trained in "still life" photography.  He was shipped out to Alaska for two years to serve in Fort Richardson outside of Anchorage.  He then went onto his career  in commercial photography and to work for a large postal facility until retirement.  In 1989 he was ordained a Catholic Deacon in Joliet ILL.  In 1996 he moved to Naples, FL where he remains an active prayer warrior and friend to all people.  He is known throughout the area for his loving nature and for having given away thousands of Crucifixes.

Gary Fusco was born in 1953 in northern N.J. and grew up with three brothers and one sister. When he was fifteen he began studying with the Xaverian Missionaries and remained with them for eight years as a Brother in this religious order. With them in Milwaukee and then Chicago he studied Scripture, Theology, Auto Mechanics, and Cabinetmaking. Desiring to marry, he left the order and began a family and his own business in cabinetmaking. He and his wife Rosalind have raised five children and are expecting their eighth grandchild! For the past six years Gary has been studying and actively practicing Christian Counseling part time and has recently earned his Doctorate. While he still loves woodworking, he feels God calling him to this ministry on a full time basis.
